What on Earth Have I Been Doing?

Haven't posted for ages - mainly because I hate posting without photos and I don't get time to take and download the pics.

So very briefly I have been:

knitting loads of socks (thank goodness it's warmed up)

to Melbourne and had the flu (unfortunately at the same time, will have to go back)

entertaining visitors from NZ (old uni friends)

falling downstairs with a glass in my hand ( stitches and tennis elbow) and no it was water not wine!

raising lots of chicks for friends

pet sitting 6 large, greedy and dirty chooks for a friend so therefore constantly cleaning up poo and filling feed containers

selling anything that isn't nailed down, on eBay - still have far too much stuff and of course ended up buying more stuff at the same time

working of course

trying to get rid of mould caused by a week of the worst weather I've ever seen

I think that's about it, nothing much doing in the garden these days as we have full shade in the winter but that is about to change I'm sure. I will get the old seed box out at the weekend and start doing some seed trays in preparation for spring. It's well over 20 today so spring can't be too far away.

Yes its cute, it's a Marans chick, one of 4. I have 3 day old Cochins as well plus 22 eggs in the incubator so I am going to be busy. I will only keep one or two, the rest are for other people.

In out household we have been selling on ebay or giving away to charity allot of stuff as well. Attempting to simplify us and our children's lives. Stuff often just brings more work not happiness. As you can still type and your words are coherent, I take it the fall has not left any long term damage, I hope?

Only to my pride Jason, there was at least one class of children watching & the bureaucracy involved in a workplace accident is mind blowing.

wow you HAVE been busy! .. i know how you feel waiting for spring, the weather ruined everything in the garden here months back and since then I haven't really been able to grow much (naughty chookies are making planting seedlings and seed sowing impossible!) : )
Good luck though! Hopefully spring will bring you awesome sunshine and lots of growing in the garden!

You sound like us, everything but gardening. But it is winter and sometimes we do need a break.
How great the you knit socks too.
I hope your injuries are mending quickly, what horrid luck!
