I seem to be having a bad year with my pets, my beloved chook-rabbit died in her sleep this week, I wonder if the change in the weather was too much for her. Our night time temps seemed to plummet without warning and I doubt she was ready for that. I don't know how old she was, she was fully grown when we adopted her and we have had her for about 18 months but I don't think she was old and she certainly wasn't sick. I only took this photo of her on Monday.
She was a really lovely rabbit who loved a bit of a cuddle and used to bound up to me every time I went outside but preferred the company of chickens to either rabbits or people. She was top of the pecking order actually.
I will probably get another rabbit or a pair eventually but they won't be able to replace Chloe - she was a one off.

aw its not fair is it. Im bummed to hear she died. I've never had a rabbit, or many pets for that matter, but they certainly aaaaaaaaare cute. I suppose it must be the sad part of having pets huh, that they will never outlive us. : / : )
Oh nooooooooooooooooo I'm so sorry to hear that, I loved reading about Chloe. Hugs hugs hugs huuuuuuuuuuugs xoxo
Thanks guys, I have had a crap weekend worrying about whether I could have prevented her death. She had a hutch but hated it so I had long since given up trying to get her in at night - maybe I should have persevered. The garden really isn't the same without her. :(
